From 2021 to 2024 I was employed at Media24, where I had the opportunity to experiment with news content on different social media platforms. My team and had many responsibilities, but the Netwerk24 Instagram & TikTok content strategies (& successes) are my proudest takeaways from these four formative years.
Social Media Content Creation
Within my first year of appointment, I led the Instagram-strategy which garnered a reach-increase of 157% year-on-year, using only Afrikaans news content produced by award-winning journalists.
My content strategies showed consistent positive growth in both interaction rates on social media and community reach.
Implemented and led the daily news content output via creative grid posts, carousels, Reels & interactive Stories.
Led the design process of new content templates often to keep up with the newest design trends.
All of this, organically with limited resorces.
TikTok
Launched the Netwerk24 TikTok profile with few resources and rapidly grew the following to over 100k within 10 months.
Experimented with various types of video formats, ranging from explainers, on-the-scene reporting, breaking news, BTS and more, which my team and I had to ideate, produce and edit daily to keep up with both trends and news.
Successfully engaged a whole new audience for the Netwerk24-brand, namely my fellow Gen Z’s.
All of this also organically.
